Facial moisturizers appear to be cheaper than day creams and night creams. Could I just use a facial moisturizer for day and night? Is there a difference between day/night creams %26amp; facial moisturizers?
Yep you can use a normal facial moisturiser for both.
However Day creams tend to have factors such as SPF, (sunscreen) and formula's which are made to moisturise your skin, without making them oily, whilst being a good base for makeup. They are usually lighter in texture and aim to protect the skin from usual daily elements like environmental pollution.
Night creams are much thicker in texture and usually contain much more complicated formulas then day creams as the skin naturally repairs itself the most at night, while we sleep. It is a proven fact that your skin needs rest aswell, and people who get more sleep have better skin then those who dont.
Night creams usually contain many more vitamins and repairning properties then normal facial moisturisers, and you'll notice that its the night creams that contain collagen compounds which get to work while we rest.
So to answer your question yes there is a difference, but you dont need to use a day/night cream unless you'd like that little bit extra.
